the same film was aired once more at the request of many fans, a week later in Lisbon and port.
The extraordinary film tells us the story of the first part of the last tour of the iron maiden, between February and March 2008, in promotion of their original album ?somewhere back in time? and that led them to 13 countries where they acted in 23 stadium and arena shows, completely sold out, in Asia, Australia and America, in just 45 days.
so this tour has become a memorable achievement.
But there is more: to make this achievement possible the band and all their crew, along with their 12 tons of sound equipment and their stage, flew into a 757 boeing customised for this adventure having the band's singer, bruce dickinson.
Is that true? Bruce dickinson not only performed on the band's 23 shows, for more than half a million fans, but also piloted the boeing himself with the name of christening ed force One, during most of the 70 000 kms.
? iron maiden: flight 666? brought to the cinema screens and now to dvd all the drama, entoiasm and hysteria that followed the band all over the world every time the ed force one landed in a city.
fans will be able to witness all the intensity of the tour, the tight schedules, the fight against time zones, the pressure to deliver to fans the energy that matched the expectations of thousands of fans of completely different cultures, spectacular shooting angles, backstage images and of course all fun.
?iron maiden: flight 666? is an honest and revealing portrait of one of the greatest bands of all time. a unique document not to miss by any fan of the band u by any rock lover.
the package includes two DVDs, one containing the film and a second with the performances of the themes that appear in the film in the integral.
Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band formed in Leyton, East London, in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. Pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement, Iron Maiden achieved initial success during the early 1980s. After several line-up changes, the band went on to release a series of UK and US platinum and gold albums, including 1982's The Number of the Beast, 1983's Piece of Mind, 1984's Powerslave, 1985's live release Live After Death, 1986's Somewhere in Time and 1988's Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. Since the return of lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith in 1999, the band has undergone a massive resurgence in popularity, with their 2010 studio offering, The Final Frontier, peaking at No. 1 in 28 countries and receiving widespread critical acclaim. Their sixteenth studio album, The Book of Souls, was released on 4 September 2015 and has been peaking at No. 1 in 45 countries including digital charts.
Despite little radio or television support, Iron Maiden are considered one of the most influential and successful heavy metal bands in history, with The Sunday Times reporting in 2017 that the band have sold over 100 million copies of their albums worldwide. Their releases were nearby 600 times certified silver, gold, platinum worldwide. The band won multiple music awards including (among many others) Brit Awards, Grammy Awards, Emma-Gaala Awards, BPI Awards, Echo Awards, Juno Awards, Silver Cleaf, the Ivor Novello Award for international achievement in 2002. As of October 2013, the band have played over 2000 live shows throughout their career. For 40 years the band have been supported by their famous mascot, "Eddie", who has appeared on almost all of their album and single covers, as well as in their live shows.
