Throughout their extensive career the grateful dead gave more than 2,000 concerts, however none of them aroused both debate and controversy among fans as the one that occurred on May 8, 1977 at the cornell university. to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this magical concert is now edited the triple album “Cornell 5/08/77” with the audio remastered by the sound engineer of the betty Cantor-Jackson group from the original tapes rescued from the legendary betty boards files. the cornell concert was recorded shortly before the edition of the band's ninth studio album, “Terrapin Station”, with one of the best formations the group had in its history; jerry garcia, donna jean godchaux, keith godchaux, mickey hart, bill kreutzmann, phil lesh and bob weir.
