Description
"fallbou criee" is the second album of "new Bahians", a band that formed in São Salvador da bahia in 1960. they are considered one of the most important and revolutionary groups of Brazilian music.
"fallbou criee" was originally released in 1972 by the free sound after the success of their first album, "It's iron in the doll " of 1970. is considered one of the five most important and influential albums of all time, and is even considered by Brazilian rolling stone, the best Brazilian album ever.
"preta, pretinha", according to the same magazine, the 20th best Brazilian music of all time. After the release, "fallen crying" stayed in the charts of the sales tops for more than 30 weeks and had strong airplay by radios across the country. at that time it is also very popular in Europe.
the unique sound of this album is the result of the fusion of samba, mpb, rock n roll and bossa nova, and is strongly influenced by clayed, (which played regularly with the group), and also by gilberto gil, legend of bossa nova.
The album was written by moraes bruira, luiz galvão, jorginho gomes, assis brave, pepeu gomes and paulinho singer mouth. After the recording, the group moved to a community house outside the river, where galvão regularly filmed the day by day of the group with its super 8 camera.
baby consuelo, who was a member of the group, had years later a very successful solo career.
in 1969, gilberto gil and caetano veloso invited pepeu to accompany them in their farewell concert before the exile of the two, the emotional concert "barra 69"
