Hello Nasty é o quinto álbum gravado pelos Beastie Boys. O álbum rápidamente se transformou num sucesso comercial vendendo 680.000 exemplares na 1ª semana tendo entrado directamente para o 1ª lugar do Top da Billboard 200.

O álbum foi editado em 1998, quatro anos após Ill Communication e marca a entrada na banda do campeão mundial pelo DMC, Mix Master Mike. Hello Nasty mostra-nos algumas facetas novas do grupo relativamente ao som hip-hop/punk/jazz que caracterizou os dois álbuns anteriores. Por exemplo "I Don't Know" é uma canção bossa nova e apresenta Miho Hatori nas vozes enquanto "Dr. Lee, PhD" apresenta a lenda do Dub, Lee "Scratch" Perry também nas vozes.

Artist

American hip hop band formed in New York in 1981 as a hardcore punk combo. After the success of their first hip hop track, "Cooky Puss" in 1983, they turned into a rap group that sometimes include punk rock tracks in their albums. From 1992 to 2001, they ran the Grand Royal label. The band officially stopped in June 2014, following the death of Adam Yauch in 2012.
