Description
in soundway records prepare to release the debut album of beat, a creation of the Luso-Angolano coquenão pedro aka dj mpula. a distinctive and vibrant project, with its feet firmly faked in the past, beat combines music samples from the 70s Angolans, with modern electronics. music is the starting point but, through dance, poetry, illustrations, crafts, photography, radio and video, the beat expands, sometimes catching on the political commentary and
social but always in a celebration environment.
beat is the first project chosen by the publishing company, recognized for its research work and discovery of African and tropical music, to start a new stage in the presentation of new artists, at the time it celebrates 10 years since its foundation.
what started as a radio program, thought to promote the new African music, evolved into a project of collaborations between continents, a full show with dancers, MC's, percussions, touched samples, projection of archive images and documentary and, now, on the same international debut album.
this disc differs from the previous "dance mwangolé" only available in port, however sold out and removed from
circulation, in the remixed and remastered sound of all songs, alignment, artwork and inclusion of new versions and guests, as is the case of mck and ngongo.
