The Dead Lay Waiting were a Melodic Death Metal / Metalcore band from Swindon, Wiltshere. They split up in 2013 and subsequently went their own ways, with Tom Shrimpton, Sam Sara, Ben Connett and Steve Franklin forming Sleep Inertia.

Highlights of the band's career included supporting Black Veil Brides in Denmark and being nominated at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards, also performing at both Download and Bloodstock.
