Description
charles spearin, founder of the broken social scene and those of make say think, gives us an album that has
both unusual and fabulous.
for about a year, charles invited neighbors from his family neighborhood to go to his house to give
informal interview, whose subject focused on the concept of happiness. after each interview, charles heard the recording and sought the most significant vocal parts at the melodic and cadence level.
He later used the melody of his own speech and wrote music to fit these accidental melodies.
finally invited some musicians friends to play these nearest neighborhood melodies
possible and with the instruments whose sound most knelt to the voice of the interviewee; the saxophone represents mrs. morris, marisa is represented by the harp, etc. and then joined everything as if of conventional compositions were treated.
all the melodies of this album are everyday melodies.
