Artist
Mild case of stunted spontaneous combustion. Glen Galloway had a handful of weird hooks/songs he didn’t know what to do with. He started playing solo & duo shows in San Diego early 2012. Omnipresent skate photog magnate O Bartholomew caught wind & asked to play bass. They immediately called drummer Ely Moyal (Glen & Ely having been half of Trumans Water for the first three TW records). By the summer the songs were spilling everywhere, & Jason Begin started recording them on an old 1/2″ tape. Near the end of the sessions he joined the band as guitar mangler. Four sonic elders…all of whom felt the rush of being in a fully firing non-project BAND that played together constantly. The songs started to re-form around the players, & the live sets caught fire. 2013 saw the release of a self-produced 7″ and the “Red UFO” debut LP, as well as tours of US/Canada. Early 2014 sees Octagrape touring east & south, & releasing their “Emotional Oil” EP on Sounds Familyre. And cramming their 4-track full of songs for their next full-length.
