Description
in 1968, and with the name band x, it began the story of one of the biggest bands in heavy metal history. the band was formed by the mythical udo dirkschneider and michael wagener. for many years, the band went through entries and exits of various elements, and this instability kept the band on an amateur level, playing only sporadically at some festivals.
his professional career began in 1976 with udo dirkschneider, wolf hoffmann, gerhard wahl, dieter rubach and frank friedrich, five years after they changed the name to accept, when they were invited to play one of the tomorrow's rock and roll festivals, the rock am rhein. after their performance, they obtained their first record contract.
their debut album was released in 1979 and only a year later the successor "i'm a rebel", but it was only for the third breaker album (1981), that accept them deserved the attention of an international fan community. in a short time they managed to reach the Swedish and British sales tables, and with "balls to the wall" in 1983, a new chapter in heavy metal history was created.
Artist
German heavy metal band from the town of Solingen, originally assembled in the early 1976s by vocalist Udo Dirkschneider.
Their beginnings can be traced back to the late 1960s, when the band got its start under the name Band X. Accept's lineup has changed over the years, which has included different singers, guitarists, bassists and drummers. Accept have broken up and reformed multiple times. They first split up in 1989, several months after the release of Eat the Heat (which was their only album with Dirkschneider's initial replacement David Reece), but reformed in 1992 and released three more albums before disbanding again in 1997. After briefly reuniting in 2005, Accept announced their third reunion in 2009, with former T.T. Quick frontman Mark Tornillo replacing Dirkschneider.
