rão kyao is one of the most important and versatile national musicians/composers. master of saxophone and bambú flute, which invariably uses in its productions, rão kyao is also a passionate practitioner of the fado, passion that has already given rise to various works, namely the multi-platinado ?fado balado?.
Having already a long relationship with the fado where work is highlighted for the legendary almeida manuel and willow, ?In?Cantado? marks the first collaboration on a single album of kyao rão and artists of several generations like camané, carminho and ricardo ribeiro. the result is a set of excellent compositions, sung by fado singers of excellence and the unmistakable flute of kyao.
? Em? Singed? is also a historical record by the fact that allying to this rich range of artists a set of original themes of rão kyao.
Portuguese musician, saxophone and bamboo flute player. He mixes fado with oriental music from India, where he lived for some time.
He started in the Lisbon jazz circuit in the late 60s, traveling then to Denmark, Netherlands, Spain and France. His first solo albums were more jazz-oriented: "Malpertuis" (1976), "Bambu" (1977), "Goa" (1979), "Ritual" (1982) and "Macau O Amanhecer" (1984).
In the 80s he achieved some success with numerous gold and platinum albums: "Fado Bailado" (1983), "Estrada da Luz" (1984) and "Oásis" (1986). Gradually he entered Indian music and blended it with his traditional Portuguese roots. He also mixed fado, Indian music and flamenco with Ketama (2) on "Delirios Ibéricos" (1992).
