O Presente do Casamento, formado pelas cinzas de Lost Pandas, foi fundado em Leeds, Inglaterra, em 1984. O único membro constante ao longo da história do grupo é o cantor e compositor David Gedge. A formação inicial incluiu o guitarrista Peter Solowka, o baixista Keith Gregory e o baterista Shaun Charman.
