Hannah Georgas nasceu e cresceu em Newmarket, Ontario. Durante o ensino médio, ela tocou em uma banda punk chamada Sister Satellite com Tim Oxford of Arkells. Aos 20 anos, ela se mudou para Victoria, BC, e lançou seu primeiro EP, The Beat Stuff, em 2008.
