Fundada por Chad Allan em 1958 e conhecida como The Silvertones, Chad Allen e The Silvertones, ou Al e os Silvertones, suas primeiras gravações foram lançadas em 1962 como Chad Allan e Reflections e Bob Ashley & the Reflections. Em 1963, eles se tornaram Chad Allan & the Expressions, finalmente se tornando The Guess Who em 1965. Inicialmente rompendo em 1975, houve várias reuniões e versões reconstituídas em turnê e gravação desde então.
